How can the tourism product be improved in North-West Holland?

The number of tourists visiting the Dutch coast has declined in recent years. There has been a particularly sharp decline in German tourists, who have been regular visitors for many years. The North-West Holland Chamber of Commerce wanted to turn the tide around and asked LAgroup to produce a vision for tourism in the region in association with market actors. We used the results of an extensive SWOT analysis to formulate three pillars for the development of tourism. They were: 1) a high-profile campaign to market the area above the North Sea canal as a single entity, 2) highlighting more than 750 years of history, and 3) the development of the area above the North Sea Canal as a destination for mini-breaks. These strategic lines were translated into seven specific action points. The chamber of commerce has already taken the first steps to put this vision into practice.
