LAgroup was asked to produce an integrated concept for Paviljoen de Venen, a multifunctional centre in the heart of Marickenland, a new district encompassing nature, recreation and homes. The pavilion has to combine two functions as an information centre for visitors to the moorland area and as a headquarters for various organisations involved with the area (Museum De Ronde Venen, NME Centre, IVN, the local historical association, the Venen and the Marickenland project team and the VVV Hollands Midden). We suggested focusing on the different types of landscape in the moorland area and reflecting them in the architecture and the exhibition in the Pavilion. We recommended setting up a foundation to manage the operation of the centre for the various parties. Finally, we proposed drawing up an operating budget, together with different options for funding it. The municipality of De Ronde Venen is reviewing whether the Paviljoen can actually be established on the basis of our report.
