At the request of the departments of Economic Affairs and Communication of the city of Amsterdam a quick scan was carried out of the city marketing strategy of Amsterdam and Amsterdam's primary competitors - Berlin, Barcelona, Dublin and Rotterdam. The scan was carried out through desk research and on site interviews with the key players and was intended as input for Amsterdam's new long-term city marketing strategy which was subsequently developed.
